Kalipur Beach

Kalipur Beach in North Andaman, located near Diglipur, is a scenic and lesser-explored beach known for its unique blend of volcanic grey sand, crystal-clear waters, and lush green backdrop. Unlike the more commercialized beaches of South Andaman, Kalipur offers a peaceful and natural charm that attracts those looking for a quiet escape. One of the most special features of Kalipur Beach is that it is among the few beaches in the world where four species of sea turtles—Olive Ridley, Leatherback, Hawksbill, and Green turtles—come to nest. During the nesting season (mainly from December to March), visitors may even get a chance to witness turtle hatching, which is a truly mesmerizing experience. The beach is also suitable for swimming, snorkeling, and beach walks, though the seabed has rocks and corals in some stretches, so care is needed while entering the water. Its serene beauty, combined with the chance to witness marine life in its natural habitat, makes Kalipur Beach a hidden gem of North Andaman.
